I think its time for a competition, so I have come up with the following. I will give away 5 of my pre-made name plates as well as a special discount voucher to 5 lucky people.

To enter:
Find a pre-made name plate with either your name or the name of someone you would like to give it to as a gift and explain why it would suit either yourself or the person you would give it to. I will pick the winners based on the most creative answers as judged by me... linking it to the picture on the name-plate will help your chances :o)
To send in your entry use the contact form on my website with "competition" as the subject title.

Oh my goodness, its been more than a month since I posted on here - this year is going really fast I can't believe its november already. Soon I will be able to reveal the MCN logo that I worked on last year as Melissa now has a launch date, yay... I can't wait to show you all. I have also enrolled in a course so that should keep me even busier over the next little while studying and running around after a toddler - but it should all be worth it in the end I hope.

I'm also thinking of having a promotion, I have a sale running at the moment but it doesn't appear to be generating much interest so I'm trying to think up some ways to generate some interest in my products - watch this space once I work it out I will reveal on here first :o)

As for the sale posters are $5 off if you use the code "POSTER", Jewellery is 20% off till the 10th Nov, Pre-made Name Plates were 15% last week but I think I will extend it for another week and as always if you get 3 or more name plates the code "3NAMEPLATES" will save you $8.

I have been so busy lately, I have had a few design jobs to do which has been really nice. I enjoy doing it so much, I really hope that I can do the course that I found sooner rather than later to improve my skills. I will have to reveal the designs a little later as they haven't been unveiled yet... But when they do I will post them on here.

One is a Logo design, the other a brochure and some cards for a promotion a local business is running. It all sounds rather cryptic but its keeping me busy and the feedback I had from the Brochures has been really good which is encouraging. Actually they have been unveiled so I should pop one up, there is a front and back as it is a tri-fold A4 brochure when printed. And its almost the end of the Nappy Hunt, I have had lots of traffic to my site which has been nice. I hope that all the hunters have enjoyed the month and found some awesome products.

Funky Silver Jewellery

I have just added some Funky Silver Pendants to my store you can check them out HERE. They are original and unique each one I have handmade using sterling silver wire of different gauges with semi-precious stones, glass or ceramic beads. These also came about due to wanting something a little different for my wedding so I created all the jewellery I wore on the day. Here is a picture of the pendant I made for our wedding.

I only have 3 available at the moment but I am able to make them to order, however you need to be aware that as they are handmade no two that I make will be identical. I also prefer things to be unique so like to make one off designs. I will have some more photos later when my lovely husband is home to take some of me wearing them.

In other news, how are you all going in the nappy hunt? I noticed a few people have been having trouble with my mini hunt, remember there is a hint forum where you can ask questions if you need a little clue where to look.

Logo's and Cloth Nappy Hunt

I may have mentioned that I have been working on some logos... or maybe not I can't remember but I know that I haven't posted them on here so while I'm on a roll and have the computer thought I would get to it. The first one posted above for Gardening 4 Kids is a new online store that will be opening in october. I enjoyed drawing the flowers and bee for the logo while working with Caroline. The second logo below for BizSafe was an old logo that needed reworking. I changed the font and added the shield to ensure the S was easily identified as well as giving a little more interest to the logo that before was simply text with the lightening bolt S.

I have also been busy adding little icons and clues to my website for the hunters involved in the Cloth Nappy Hunt that is running for the month of september. I hope that all those involved in the hunt are enjoying it and finding some excellent little businesses out there. For those who register to hunt if you use the discount code when making a purchase this month you will recieved a 25% discount on all purchases, this includes all custom options. Well I haven't had any suggestions for new drawings in the custom name plates so it looks like it will just be what I feel like drawing at the time. The count down is on till the nappy hunt, actually registrations have opened now so if you look at my previous post there is a link to where you can join in all the fun. I have done a few new drawings but they haven't made it to the computer yet - we have been madly trying to get things sorted out for our new house so drawing and things have been on the back burner but I hope to find some time in the next week.

I have also been working on a logo and banner for a new little business aimed at children which has been keeping me busy, I hope that I come up with something that they like as it would be awesome to have another logo in my portfolio. I have been enjoying doing it and coming up with different options so we will just have to wait and see if they pick it.

My poor blog has been a little neglected lately sorry, we went away for my birthday and my little monster doesn't like me to use the computer during the day which makes life rather interesting - especially when I want to post blogs or change things on the website.

My poor blog has been pretty quiet lately, sorry too many things going on at home and a cheeky little monkey that likes to climb on everything causing me endless dramas - the computer is the most prized item in the room to get to (looks like I must spend too much time on here). So news from Radge Design - I have updated the website with a new welcome image and description, I have also rearranged the galleries with a few new folders so the pictures are grouped in a more uniform manner. Like I mentioned in the last post I have entered some logos in a competition - it has changed its name to "One Crafty Little Cat" so I had to redo the logos. Here are a few of the new creations.

There is a competition going on over at The Crafty Minx to design them a logo... So of course I thought I could try my luck and have a play around to see what I could come up with. I still have a few days to think of something else but for now these are my entries, since there is no limit to the number of entries that can be made it means I better get my thinking cap on. Its hard to think of something that embodies The Crafty Minx and would make an ideal logo - also there are no little tips of what should be included other than the text so its all up to my imagination :o) should be fun if I can find some time to play around some more. Here are the designs I came up with so far.

In other news not much has been happening at Radge Design, my silly laminator did something funky when I laminated my posters which was a bummer so there are a couple that are reduced due to the imperfections. They are only noticable close up, not when on a wall for display. I have done a few more drawings for posters but I think I will make sure it is a warmer day before I laminate them, I still have to scan them in before I can show them off... its a lovely girl butterfly - I think it is gorgeous.

Anyway better run and spend some time with the family :o)

I have been a busy little bee trying to fix up the website, I think I managed to get it sorted out now (well for now anyway). I have some new advertising coming out soon so I wanted the little glitches in the site to be fixed up before it came out... watch this space and I will tell you all about it when it gets released. I have also listed in a few work at home parent directories in the past little while - you can check them out here: mwwah, support a wahp, family capers, and work at home mums.

Here is a sneak peak of some new A4 laminated posters that I will be adding to my store soon, they are bright colourful drawings just perfect for decorating the rooms of all the little people out there that make our days a little bit brighter (and keep us very busy). As they a posters they are easy to move around, can be used in rental properties and being laminated are unlikely to get damaged. I hope that you like this addition to my range, if you like my works and would like me to create a poster just for your little ones then please contact me via the website. Its been a little while since I have posted on here slack I know but I'm back now with some new drawings instore. I am trying something a little different so they are all mounted ready for framing which means you can get it framed to suit your decor. There are a few different drawings abstracts, flowers and even a ballerina angel. I hope you like them.

Last week I helped Gem on the Oz Handmade stall out at the stitches and craft fair, it was lovely to meet the face behind all the emails. It wasn't quite what I expected but I got some good ideas for new products when I get the time to do some sewing or even try my hand at some screen printing (if I can remember how to do it). I got to see some of the other products available at Oz, they are so good I enjoyed being able to see what my fellow store owners are selling.

So much has been happening lately, I have been a little busy to get on here so this is one huge update.

I finally have my own website, scary and exciting at the same time. http://www.radgedesign.com.au/ I can't believe that I did it - I used a template but I designed all the headers and images myself, all I have to do now is decide on the best way to intergrate a store into it. I am thinking of getting into some digital design if I can, some business logos or welcome montages but I will just have to see what happens. I would also love to do some custom artworks, so I'm thinking of having completely custom artworks and digital design on my site with all my existing works, drawings and name plates still at Oz Handmade. Too many things to think about.

I'm also counting down to the Melbourne Stitches and Craft fair that is in 2 weeks, I have shipped off a ton of stuff to Gem at Oz Handmade for her stall. Even scarier is that I will be helping out over the weekend (my first markets since having my daughter).

The custom orders have now been shipped out with both customers liking my work which was nice. Here is one that was for a little girl on her birthday.

I have been creating tonight, I was designing it in my head for a while and since the little miss is asleep I got the chance to try it out... I can't wait to see what it looks like after the estapol monster has attacked it. Its a little different to normal as I used some funky textured tissue paper behind an abstract drawing so it will be interesting to see how it turns out as I havent used that paper like this before.

My custom orders are coming along nicely too, a few more coats and they will be ready for shipping!!!

I have been busy the past few days getting some custom orders ready for the infamous estapol. I drove my lovely husband nuts when I was using estapol on the 150 name plates I made for our wedding - they were our place settings/gifts, that is where the idea originally came from. I wanted to use my artistic ability to make our wedding one to remember - bright, colourful and one big party!

Anyway back to the past few days... I received my first custom order, yay - its a birthday present so I can't unveil until the 25th. I also have a couple of prizes to make - the first to be arranged is for Erin who won in the Nattyjane Designs win win raffle, she has chosen a cute butterfly/daisy drawing for her little girl. Here is a sneak peek...

I have also been busy drawing some images for the boys out there who like trains, dinosaurs, cricket and robots. I will add more pictures to the collection when I can think of more things to draw (and get the time). They can be found here at Custom Name Plate Boy's.

Since I had a request for a more girly image for a custom name plate and my little monster actually went to bed for me, I have been doing some drawing this evening. Love it, so relaxing - except the lighting giving me a headache and the scanner playing silly buggers on me. I added a new product - custom images girls, and soon when I draw some boring cricket stumps or other boy stuff I will add a boy one too (they aren't really that boring but harder for me to do as I have to think more). Here are a few of my new drawings:

I also finished a frog drawing that I started when I was pregnant, so quite a while ago. So keep on the look out for some animal posters in store soon. They will be laminated onto brightly coloured cardboard and look fantastic - I drew them initially to decorate our nursery. My little monster is 1 today :o) I can't believe that it has been a year since she was born. Time flies with little ones around underfoot. So to celebrate I have a limited edition card as a free gift with any purchase (while stocks last). The cards are a print of a green tree frog that I drew especially for my baby when I was pregnant, when I didn't know if she was a boy or girl.

I had a chance on the weekend to do some drawings, yay :o) a few were especially for custom name plates - so if you want some more pictures to chose from have a look in abstracts and childrens, I think the new ones are rather groovy. Here are a few of them, to see the rest you will have to look in my store! Another you will have to wait and see what I create with it... Its a larger piece but not too big, I hope that it will look good once it is on a board and all shiny with lacquer - its a little different to my other pieces, fairly simple but I like it.

I also made my first internet sale, yay... it was to a family member though so does that count? I think I'll have to pretend it does so it makes my store seem more worthwhile. Hopefully its a sign of things to come, I really hope there are some people out there who appreciate my art.

well I haven't been up to much, I haven't even had the chance to do any drawing due to our non sleeping little monster :o) although hopefully that is about to improve and I'll get some more little pics completed for the custom name plates (and hopefully then I'll get some orders). I'll let you know when I have some new images to chose from :o)

we are almost halfway through march, I wonder how all the hunters are going in the nappy hunt (I have a few, but not too many)... I have been trying not to get too addicted to hunting for the little icons are there really are more important things that I should be doing (like drawing some new pics or cleaning the house). has anyone done the mini hunt over at mwwah.com.au? my questions are pretty easy, I look forward to seeing what people think of my products.

A few custom name plates available

I had a chance today to prep some of the masonite I use for the name plates which means I have a few available for purchase now rather than only previewing!!! I have 10 painted ready for some pictures and I hope by the end of the weekend to have enough ready for all my current custom images, we will have to see how I go.

All I have to do is move my art table into the shed, get some more estapol and I should be set up. I might even get to the pile of name plates that need a few more coats before I can list them - so if there is a name in the pre-made section that appears to be sold... it may just be waiting on some estapol (since I couldn't really say they were in stock when they aren't quite finished - but I still put the pics up!!!).

I hope there are some people looking at my products and liking them.

I think I even managed to put all my things in correctly, it has one little glitch but I can't work out what is wrong, doh lucky it isnt anything major so I can live with it. I have a few items that are just previewing for the moment - but I hope on the weekend to get my table into the new shed so I can make them active too... I need the space in the shed since there is no room here!!!

So I have just found out that I will be away for 5 days when my little store has just opened, there is no way I can avoid being away but I really want my store to be open...Dammit.

I guess I'll just have to put a really nice note up saying that I will respond to any enquiries, send any orders when I get back and apologise for any delays. Its just really bad timing - oh well not much else I can do. But on a more positive note I have uploaded more products and my shed has some walls and roller doors!!! Just need a roof and to get everything organised and it will be all systems go...

My business cards arrived today, which was exciting as I wasn't expecting them till next week. They look alright - pretty simple and plain (not much different to the ones I had printed myself) but that was what I wanted. And all the uploading has been going well and the shed is being built as I type which means that my store should be up and running before the end of the month as planned!!! Its all starting to come together, yay.

I have been so busy trying to get everything uploaded I haven't had any time to draw. Although I shouldn't used that as an excuse as I haven't really done any for the past few months as my cheeky little daughter gets in the way, she just wants to help but...

Busy Bee

Well I have been a busy little bee the past few days (not today I was a little ill) and I think I have got the website worked out so I'm getting heaps quicker at uploading products. I think that I will have an opening special on all in stock items of 10% off, I still have to decide on the custom products but then I need my shed so I can make the custom ones and it is still under construction. I'm getting so excited, I think my hubby is too as it has been giving me something to make me smile.

I ordered some postcards for promo material today... so they should be here in a few weeks - I'm really getting into this so I hope that some people out there like my products (fingers crossed). I suppose the name plates were a hit at our wedding where I made them for everyone to be used as placemats. Anyway this is really just rambling so I better get back into it. So I've been busy trying to upload my products to my new store (hoping to launch it at the end of the month) but as usual there are a few dramas like the site deciding not to work for me which is a little disappointing but I hope they get it all sorted soon.

I have decided its actually hard work trying to work out what to write to describe my artworks, I really wish I was better at writing or that my lovely little sister was around to help me out. Oh well better get back into it and feed the little monster playing next to me!

I have been teaching myself photoshop lately and I decided to play with a night photo of a church to see what I could create by changing the colours around - I like what I have done so far with them. I prefer painting or drawing but it is way easier working on a computer with a inquisitive 9 month old around.

I'm all excited too as I designed a logo for a new MCN brand...I can't wait till they come out so I can see how the logo looks on them - very exciting.

Radge Design my little dream

I'm looking at getting my a website for Radge Design so I thought I could start with a blog... who knows why as I don't really know what I will post but I guess I will be able to use it to display my works or muse when I get the opportunity.

Radge Design is my dream, I have always loved art especially at school and have always wanted the opportunity to sell my works to a wider audience, thanx to the web that may just happen. Being creative is my outlet be it drawing, painting, sewing or making jewellery - it makes me happy and I enjoy the time I get to spend creating, I just hope that soon I will have more time to relax, be creative and enjoy my hobby.
